If it's wet, get wetter!

If it's wet, get wetter!

So far spring has been a soggy old time in Cornwall this year. We're fed up with waiting for the sun to shine, so we've taken the stance that if it's wet, get wetter! With all our beautiful coastline, there is plenty of fun to be had in and on the water, so let's go and get wetter...

Hit The Waves

Starting at our favourite beach as it's just a hop and skip from our shop! Head to Portreath Surfing School to learn some new skills, or hire a kayak and head out to explore the secret coves along the coastline.

Skiing Without Snow!

Who needs snow when you've got waves! Head over to Camel Ski School near Rock for waterskiiing, wakeboarding and wake surfing. These guys will have you standing up in a jiffy, there is nothing quite like zipping and skimming across the top of the water behind a powerful boat.

Sea Pool Swimming

While the sea might still be chilly, there are lots of secret sea pools dotted around the coast which warm up much faster on a sunny day. From sheltered south coast spots to natural mermaid pools, there are plenty to discover and explore. Check out our blog '5 best sea pools to dive into in Cornwall' for a head start.

Wildlife Spotting

All aboard the Seaquest in Falmouth for a sea safari! Orca Sea Safaris have a purpose built boat and will head out to find the best wildlife off our shores each day. From whales to dolphins to seals, sharks, fish and birds - there is so much to spot. These guys do so carefully and respectfully, following a strict code of conduct and never disturbing the animals.

An Underwater World

Well you can't get much wetter than scuba diving! It's not just for your tropical holidays, you can also learn to scuba dive in Cornwall and there is so much to see! From kelp forests to fish, dolphins, shipwrecks, seals and even some old German U-boats! Head to Cornish Diving Centre to get started.

Fancy Something More Relaxed?

If you aren't quite ready to pull on that wetsuit and hit the waves then you can still enjoy a day out on the water, rather than in it! One of our favourites is the Helford River Cruise - a cute little 19ft motorboat that will take you up and down the creeks of the peaceful Helford River. With room for just 12 people it's a relaxing day out.

Whether you are packing your swimwear and towels or just a picnic, grab one of our colourful Roka backpacks and head off for an adventure!
